Mandate Fulfilled

Established in 1999 under an agreement with the Ontario Government, the Ontario Innovation Trust has now fulfilled its mandate to provide infrastructure funding in support of advanced research in Ontario.

The offices of the Trust are now closed, and its operations concluded. This web site will remain until March 31, 2012, but is not being monitored. Inquiries will not be answered and contact links are no longer active.

Questions concerning current and future funding for research infrasturcture in Ontario should be directed to the Ontario Research Fund at the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation.

The Trust extends its thanks to all institutions, individuals and corporate investors as well as the Canada Foundation for Innovation who helped make our work a success. Together, we made a difference.

Why is research important? Well, in the case of my research into the boreal forest, no other country is going to be doing it. This environment is our own.
